Welcome To First Year's University Preschool & Daycare!
First Years University’s mission is to provide high-quality childcare in a warm environment that is safe, loving and nurturing.
We understand the importance of the first years of learning and development. We specialize in the care and development of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years of age from our downtown Homewood location.
The purpose of our program is to meet the continuously changing development of children’s physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs.
Our goal is to be childcare professionals who serve as role models in early childhood education for the children and families in Homewood, Flossmoor, Glenwood, Hazel Crest, Country Club Hills, Olympia Fields, Markham and the surrounding South Suburban communities.
We have carefully selected a loving, caring, experienced staff, and together we will work to provide whatever is developmentally appropriate for each child and help them grow to their fullest potential.
All of our staff members are state certified and experienced in providing quality child care for children. We will implement plans that will aid in the development of each child and their individual needs.
We understand the frustration that comes from looking for a daycare center or preschool for your precious little one.
You have questions any responsible parent should have like "What is a good daycare near me", "how much is the cost of a good daycare near me" or even "reviews of preschools near me." We encourage you to check out our mommy blog to read about what to look for and tips to help you decide.

Top-Rated Child Care Services
Our teachers and assistants are selectively chosen. Their educational background, experience with children and their love of children are qualifications we look for when choosing staff to care for children.
Our center follows state regulations in qualifying new staff. Each staff has passed a background check done by the center and DCFS. Each staff member is approved by DCFS.
Every year staff members obtain 20 or more clock hour training and are all CPR certified. They are warm and loving, open to the children's needs and flexible in their actions. Staff members are required to have physicals every two years, along with a T.B. testing. Physicals must stay current.
Staff is also required to show proof/documentation of having received one dose of the Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) and 2 doses of the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), or show proof of immunity to MMR (DCFS will require physician’s written signature)
